  • 1 apple peeled, cored, and sliced

Cake Batter
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup Water for the pot
  • 1 egg at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 7 tbsp melted butter cooled

Instructions
  1. Grease a 7-inch fluted aluminum cake pan.
  2. Mix Base ingredients for the base, except apple slices, in a bowl and spread evenly to the bottom of the pan.
  3. Overlay the apple slices at the bottom of the pan, making sure there are no gaps.
  4. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together in a bowl. Set aside.
  5. Add water to the inner pot. Place steam rack in the inner pot.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, whisk egg and sugar together.
  7. Add vanilla extract, butter, and milk to egg mixture, whisk together.
  8. Sift dry ingredients into your egg mixture, mix well.
  9. Pour Cake Batter on top of apple slices evenly. Cover cake pan with aluminum foil.
  10. Place pan on steam rack. Close and secure lid for pressure cooking.
  11. Select BAKE, CUSTOM level, HIGH pressure and set time. for 35 minutes (00:35). Select START. Turn off KEEP WARM.
  12. When program ends, Natural Release pressure.
  13. Remove the Multi-Cooker Lid. Take the cake out. Remove the aluminum foil and let cake cool.
  14. Place a plate over cake tin and flip to serve.

TIP: The whisking adds air to your batter which helps your cake rise. So, whisk well.
