What means “heatproof bowl “inside the original instant pot bowl?
The original equipment can’t do the job ?

Love the recipe but surprised to see the option to use glass in the IP for pot in pot cooking. Recently I read a report that Pyrex does not endorse their product for use in electric pressure cookers. Which glass cookware do you recommend using in the Instant Pot? Thank you.

    Hi Joe,

Some recipes that are too thick or starchy. To avoid potential burning they use a pot-in-pot method. Essentially you use a “oven” safe bowl that fits inside the inner pot to cook recipes you would be able to cook in the inner pot alone.

Excellent! This is an amazing recipe but I still haven’t nailed down my cooking times yet. I tried 20 minutes on the Porridge setting with a natural release and then added 5 minutes on manual with a natural release and this was perfect for me. I didn’t have the cranberries or flax seed. I used Chia, frozen pineapple and frozen strawberries. I did NOT add olive oil. I mixed in a sliced banana before serving.

I used a small corning dish set on the trivet with about 1-1/2 cups of water in the bottom of my DUO60.

I have made this every week for over a month now. Every morning I have this along with some of my homemade yogurt. The only change I make is that I omit the raisins…not a fan of them. This is a delicious healthy recipe! I love it.

    Hi Christina,

There should be 1/2 cups of water in the inner pot for pressurizing then place in the trivet (Steam Rack) and your heatproof bowl with Superfood Breakfast Porridge mixture.

There may be a little water due to some condensation. If you want you can cover the heat proof bowl with tin foil but you will need to add 1 – 2 minutes more.

You always need to use the lid for your unit to pressure cook.

Very good! I added walnuts, a little brown sugar and pure maple syrup after it was done cooking. It was not as thick as I thought it would be so I did not need to add any additional almond milk.
