Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine room temperature whole milk, yeast, and
2 tbsp of the sugar. Allow the yeast to bloom for 5 minutes , or until frothy and fragrant. - With the dough hook, beat in the eggs, melted butter, salt, vanilla, and sugar until combined.
- Slowly incorporate the flour on low speed until a soft, pliable dough forms. Add in a tablespoon of flour at a time if it’s too sticky to handle, or a tablespoon of milk at a time if it is crumbly.
- Knead the dough on medium speed for 3-4 minutes until smooth. Place in a clean mixing bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and allow to rise in a warm place for two hours or until doubled in size.
- Lightly flour the work surface and roll dough to a
½ inch thick square. - Cut the dough into equal
2x2 inch squares. - Preheat on the Air Fry function. Place beignets in a single layer, careful not to overlap. Spray with vegetable oil spray.
- Air Fry at 330°F for 9-11 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Meanwhile, in a medium mixing bowl add the powdered sugar. When the beignets are done, immediately toss in the powdered sugar bowl.
- Continue air frying until all beignets are cooked.
- Serve warm with jam on the side. Enjoy!
