Instructions
  1. In the instant pot on SAUTE mode, add beef, bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Saute until meat is browned and vegetables are tender.
  2. Pour in tomato sauce and stewed tomatoes. Add salt and pepper. Set to HIGH PRESSURE for 10 minutes. Let natural release.
  3. To cook pasta in Instant Pot, add it to the sauce and put on Saute mode until the pasta is cooked, stirring frequently. Add additional water if mixture becomes too thick.
  4. To cook pasta not in the instant pot just cook on stove as package directs, then stir into finished dish.

Horribly written recipe, I got an E5 errpr since you shouldn’t sautee and have the lid on. Be more specific!

    Hi Chase,

We apologize for the confusion. If the recipe requires the lid to be placed on the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker, locked and secured, it will be mentioned in the instructions.

Not for a mini instant pot. I wish it said that in description. Tasted bland so add additional spices

WTF is Italian Goulash? There is no such thing as goulash anywhere in Italian cuisine.

It seems whenever Americans invent some type of horrid stew like macaroni concoction they call it a goulash.

It’s all an absurd, overly lazy rip-off from Hungarian Gulyás which is actually a soup dish made from lrg chunks of meat and rough cut vegetables dosed heavily with Hungarian Paprika (preferably Szeged Brand if your in the U.S.)

May as well call this Muzgo… (everything in the fridge MUZGO before it rots).

I read the instructions but decided I wanted to drain the fat from the meat after browning, so, I browned first, removed, then sautéd veggies, then added it back in and cooked. It was very good. I substituted Lamb for Ground beef.

Excellent flavor! I used only 2 -14z cans of stewed tomatoes Instead of 4. Cooked pasta in a pan instead of IP. Goulash was a bit soupier than what we liked. So next time going to cook noodles in IP to soak up some liquid or less tomato sauce. Suggestions?

This was VERY good and worth making again!
The only reason I am not giving all 5 stars is because it took much longer to make than indicated. After more than 30 minutes doing the natural release, it hadn’t released all of the pressure yet and I was getting hungry and still had to cook the noodles in the sauce. I quick released the remaining pressure because I didn’t have the patience to wait who knows how much longer. I’m glad I decided to cook the noodles in the sauce. It wasnt soupy at all.
