How do you know which size Instant Pot this recipe will work in?
Very tasty. Quick release if you want it more in chunks instead of the sauce.
So simple so delicous!
Made four batches, put into jars and froze
Hi Angela. I have a 6 quart instant pot. I used 12 gala apples in mine more than enough room. The apples will reduce while cooking. What size is yours?
The easiest recipe for applesauce. It comes out the perfect consistency and chunky like we prefer. I do not add the butter. It’s perfect.
Very easy to prepare and fast to cook without heating up the kitchen using the Instant Pot. I have made 3 batches so far, once using 12 Galas, then another using 10 Galas and 2 Granny Smiths, and next using 10 Red MacIntosh and 2 Galas. All batches came out perfectly with an impecible taste. Others should note to reduce the amount of lemon juice used to your particular taste. Will certainly continue using this recipe at least once weekly during the season as we go through applesauce.
Turned out delicious, highly recommend.
Ermahgerd. Perfect consistency, absolutely delicious on a winter day. Never buying applesauce again. I do note, however, the extra juice has an unfortunate side effect of evaporating. At least that’s what I’m told happened.
I’m not sure why butter is needed (I omitted it) and I didn’t add the honey as I prefer the natural sweetness or tartness of apples. It tasted just as good as my usually stove top applesauce with the benefit of taking significantly less time. My preferred apples are Macintosh apples.
So yummy. I’m wondering if you have to,peel the apples?
Im supposed to use minimum 2 cups water in order to build pressure in my 6qt. Does anyone know if I added more water if it would taste off?
Most recipes are designed for the 6 Quart. You are correct the minimum amount is 2 cups, unless instructed by one of our recipes. Apples have lots of water which gets released during cooking.
I had a bunch of honeycrisp apples. Didn’t add the honey in recipe. Overall tasted pretty good. Like having smaller containers available in my freezer for short notice meal supplement.
I made this recipe twice. This first time I followed it totally. The second time I used my apple peeler. I used 3T honey, 1T lemon juice & 3/4 cup apple juice instead of water. Everything else stayed the same. When done I stirred it. No blender needed. Perfect!
Is it right that it’s only 3 servings? That seems wrong.
I have the mini duo. I used 6 fugi apples 2/3 cups of water all other ingredients were as is. The mini will not hold 12 apples. It was a hit at lunch time
Used Honeycrisp apples. Delicious!
Could you double this recipe?
I used Envy apples. Didn’t need any of the juice left over. Waiting for it to cool to taste it!
We licked our bowls clean .
Made a double batch in my 8 quart.
Then blended with my Ace Blender.
Used the extra little green apples from “national free lunch” during Pandemic. We’re from Washington State.
Delicious with Fuji apples. So sweet and perfect consistancy just transfering over the apple no extra juice needed!
It says to cook for 3- minutes. I assume it means 30?
