Used this profile for a similar recipe online and followed the basic guidelines. Used a 4 lb eye of round roast, the suggested juices, and an over the counter rub. Makes great Italian beef!
Delicious! My finicky husband even loved this recipe. Easy to make . I will definitely make this again .
Family loved it. I used rump roast so didn’t leave as much juice. But meat was tender and juicy. I made to medium.
This was delicious, and everyone enjoyed it! Instead of cooking the meat slowly (which defeats the purpose of the Instant Pot), I cooked my 1.6 lb roast at high pressure for 35 min, and it came out perfect!
Timing is not even close. My roast was in the pot for more than 4 hours and still only 140 degrees and bleeding. Praying the veggies will be cooked.
Made this recipe, actually still making it. Over 3 hours now and still rare. Smells good, but just turned the oven on. Will be eating at midnight otherwise.
Good flavor, but never got done. Cooked 3 hours on warm, only hot to 120 degree. Now using slow cooker to finish. Hope it will be good when done.
So disappointed as my roast never reached any higher than rare after 4 hours on the warm setting. Is there a ratio of pressure cooking time per pound of meat?? Potatoes needed a little more pressure time as well. Gravy was great.
Instead of cooking on warm I pressure cook for 45-50 mins and the meat comes out perfect!
Worst instuctions I have ever read, the suggested settings do not correspond to the Instapot that I purchased. Ibought one because of their supposed simplicity but the receipes are not intelligble, ie do not match the device. Don’y waste your money , just a fad cooker.
Hi Ronald,
Manual and Pressure Cook are interchangeable.
We have also expanded to other kitchen appliance which the recipes can be found on here as well.

Need to cook on high pressure for 30 minutes, if frozen
Yup… the recipe is reallt easy to follow and it turns out great. I added some steak spice for a little extra kick. The gravy turned out a little salty, but the meat was flavored quite nicely. I’ve added this as a favorite.
Everything is still raw. Not using this again
My husband and youngest loved this, my older son and I did not. Flavor was good. I am a texture person and i didn’t like the texture.
Came out tough and undercooked using recipe. I put the toast back in and pressure cooked for 20 additional minutes and its now edible. Next time, i will just pressure cook for 45 minutes.
I just got my first, 6 quart Instant Pot! This is the first meal I have prepared with it. It’s cooking now. I feel like a little kid in the candy shop! I am sooo excited to see how this turns out! I used an eye roast, nice piece with a fabulous thick layer of fluffy, not grisled fat on the one side only. Smells AMAZING!! I added some potatoes and fresh carrots as well. I put three lengthwise, pencil width tunnels, filled with crushed garlic from end to end! Yum! Pic to follow! Thank you!ⁿ
This was an awful recipe. I cooked it for 4 hours and it still didnt get up to temp. A waste of an evening. Ended up having to put it in the oven. Do not use this recipe
Poorly written recepe. A 3 lb roast should be cooking for at least 30 minutes. Also missed the saute step to brown the outside of the roast. My Instant Pot food cooking times reference sheet shows avroast needs at least 30 minutes for a 3lb roast plus 6 min per additional pound.
This was my first time using my new Instant Pot and the results were very disappointing. The roast was not done at all. Not a great first experience.
Thank you! You should try this silicone trivet with heat-resistant handles. it’s much better than the metal trivet that came with the instant pot. I got it on Amazon: https://amzn.to/35LvU9n
Followed the recipe exactly, opened the pot and it mooed at me. Put it back in on high pressure for 30 mins and then opened it to a chunk of tar. Don’t know who made this recipe but am very concerned for their wellbeing. Give this to people you hate. Went to bed hungry tonight…
Made this recipe with a trimmed rin eye roast and it was perfect… HOWEVER… because we wanted closer to medium doneness I added one minute and followed with a natural release instead of a quick release. It was PERFECT!
