  • 5 medium size potatoes peeled, about 1.5 lb
  • 1 medium size onion peeled
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp of sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp of salt and pepper to taste
  • ¾ cup to 1 cup vegetable oil or Salo melted (for frying), pig fat-lard
Optional:
  • 1-2 cups of sour cream for serving if desired

Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, take turns grating the potatoes and onion (using the star shaped grater holes).
  2. Add into the bowl all-purpose flour, egg, sour cream, salt, pepper and baking soda into the potato mixture and mix well.
  3. Select the Sauté – Normal and set the time to 40 Minutes. Press Start.
  4. Add 2-3 tbsp of Salo or oil into the pot.
  5. Spoon 1 heaping tbsp of potato mixture 3 or 4 at a time. Fry each side until golden-brown in color (about 2-3 Minutes each side).
  6. Repeat the same procedure for the remaining batter.
  7. Serve warm with a dollop of sour cream.
  8. Enjoy!
