We recently moved to plant based eating. I made this for my family for dessert tonight. Followed the recipe as is. They all loved it!

I can’t make this work – burn error continously. Have added more liquid, but still too easely burns.

Do not do this. So much wasted rice and spices. I followed the recipe and kept getting the “burn” warning. I added an extra cup of alternative milk and got the burn warning again. Its nothing like a pudding and barely has any flavor at all.

Triggers the burn alert after a couple minutes, just like previous reviews state, don’t bother following this recipe…

I tried it and got burn over and over even after adding lots more almond milk. I think the issue is i used dry rice and the recipe calls for leftover rice. I would be interested to try again with already cooked rice, but definitely don’t do dry rice or it will burn!

Delicious! I did get the burn notice but it was right at the end and still finished the cycle. I think next time I will try to add the liquids last. This time I had the rice sitting in the milk while I cut up the apples and its possible it started absorping right awat.

    Hi SonjaED,

Nice save switching to pot in pot. With very starchy recipes, try using nonstick cooking spray first.

I’ve never tried that, I often have problems with pasta as well so I’ll try that next time thanks so much:)

The burn message came on a minute or two before the pressure cooker phase started. The bottom of the pot showed that the spices had burned and stuck to the bottom. Maybe the recipe needs more than two cups of liquid. This recipe also needs at least 1/2 c sugar. The recipe is OK but I wouldn’t make it again.

I would have like to tried it but burnt food never taste good. To much rice to the amount of milk. Should have more liquid so you dont get the BURN notice. Recheck your ratios before cooking this recipe.

Use the pot in pot method or this burns, as others have said. I added brown sugar. Served warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, it’s good. As a stand alone we aren’t crazy about it.
